Healing and Hope for Thousands of Boys Over the Past 38 Years
Since we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Ranch has been serving families for over 38 years. We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of transformation in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why numerous boys have realized success here, even where other programs have failed.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Ranch for boys apart from other therapeutic ranches:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys have a lot of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form an important aspect of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally need to give back and serve others.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Ranch, boys go home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
The Ranch Features an Accredited School
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Ranch for Boys, because we feel education strongly supports future success. Within our accredited private school, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for those with not enough credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, welding, basic automotive, and more.
Boys at Teen Challenge Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
