Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch enrolls boys from South Dakota and across the nation on its Arkansas campus. It is uncommon from all other Teen Challenge programs in that it has private bedrooms for each of the boys. It also features top academics, licensed addiction treatment (insurance accepted), an awesome wilderness adventure program, mission trips, and equine therapy.
For teen boys coping with anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, authority issues, or drug abuse, we can help. A chance at a new direction is available through this Teen Challenge program for adolescent boys. We lovingly train troubled boys to choose a new path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you are searching for a Teen Challenge for your boy in South Dakota, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could possibly be precisely what you are interested in. Located in Arkansas, it may be a distance from South Dakota, but that may be a good thing. Teens in need of intervention may need time away from your hometown and the influences of friends there.
As the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for several decades. A relationship with Christ is the best source of healing in the lives of the teenagers. Every major component of our Teen Challenge program is biblically-based.
A number of factors distinguish Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other similar programs:
MUCH LOWER COST! Teen Challenge is a fraction of the cost of other therapeutic programs.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
6-MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from this Teen Challenge, boys return home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Also, our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED THERAPY — Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor trips and activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and hiking, climbing and cave exploration. Boys are challenged physically and learn the importance of responsibility, goals and perseverance.
Education means a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we think education is critical for future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who are struggling.
Parents from all over the nation, including South Dakota, select Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Teens at Teen Challenge participate in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
Many young men have turned their lives around and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after completing the program at Teen Challenge. We would like to talk with you to see if our boarding school is the right fit for your son. |More about Teen Challenge in South Dakota: |
South Dakota is a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is named after the Lakota and Dakota Sioux American Indian tribes. South Dakota is the 17th most extensive, but the 5th least populous and the 5th least densely populated of the 50 United States. Once the southern portion of the Dakota Territory, South Dakota became a state on November 2, 1889. Pierre is the state capital and Sioux Falls, with a population of nearly 160,000, is South Dakota’s largest city.
South Dakota is bordered by the states of North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana. The state is bisected by the Missouri River, dividing South Dakota into two geographically and socially distinct halves, known to residents as “East River” and “West River”.Hasselstrom, pp. 24.] Eastern South Dakota is home to most of the state’s population, and fertile soil in this area is used to grow a variety of crops. West of the Missouri, ranching is the predominant agricultural activity, and the economy is more dependent on tourism and defense spending. The Black Hills, a group of low pine-covered mountains, is located in the southwest part of the state. The Black Hills are sacred to the Sioux. Mount Rushmore, a major tourist destination, is located there. Other attractions in the southwest include Badlands and Wind Cave national parks, Custer State Park, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and historic Deadwood. South Dakota experiences a temperate continental climate, with four distinct seasons and precipitation ranging from moderate in the east to semi-arid in the west. The ecology of the state features species typical of a North American grassland biome.
Humans have inhabited the area for several millennia, with the Sioux becoming dominant by the early 19th century. In the late 19th century, European-American settlement intensified after a gold rush in the Black Hills and the construction of railroads from the east. Encroaching miners and settlers caused conflict that triggered a number of Indian Wars, ending with the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890. Key events in the 20th century included the Dust Bowl and Great Depression, increased federal spending during the 1940s and 50s for agriculture and defense, and an industrialization of agriculture which has much reduced family farming. While several Democratic senators have represented South Dakota for multiple terms at the federal level, the state government is largely dominated by the Republican Party, whose nominees have carried South Dakota in each of the most recent eleven presidential elections. Historically dominated by an agricultural economy and a rural lifestyle, South Dakota has recently sought to diversify its economy to attract and retain residents. South Dakota’s history and rural character still strongly influence the culture of the state.
