For teen boys dealing with anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, legal problems, or drug use, we can help. A chance at a new direction is possible through this Teen Challenge program for adolescent boys. We lovingly train at-risk boys to choose a new path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you are looking for a Teen Challenge for your boy in Tennessee, consider that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could be precisely what you are interested in. Located in Arkansas, it may be a distance from Tennessee, but that may be a good thing. Teenage boys needing intervention may need to get away from your hometown and the negative impact of friends there.
Since we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families more than 40 years. A relationship with Christ is the surest way to transformation in the lives of the young men. Every main part of our Teen Challenge program is biblically-based.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other similar programs:
MUCH LOWER COST! Teen Challenge is a fraction of the cost of other therapeutic programs.
MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form an important aspect of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally want to give back and serve others.
6-MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from this Teen Challenge, boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys receive plenty of supervision and personal attention. Also, our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED THERAPY — Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor trips and activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and hiking, climbing and cave exploration. Boys are challenged physically and learn the importance of responsibility, goals and perseverance.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we believe education is critical for future success. In our accredited private Christian school, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it.
Parents from around the country, including Tennessee, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Students at Teen Challenge take part in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program second to none. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
Many teens have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge. We would be happy to talk with you to determine if our boarding school is a good fit for your son. Whether you choose Teen Challenge, a school in Tennessee, or another program, we hope your family can experience the restoration that Christ can bring. |More about Teen Challenge in Tennessee: |
Tennessee (Lang-chr) is a U.S. state located in the Southeastern United States. Tennessee is the 36th most extensive and the 17th most populous of the 50 United States. Tennessee is bordered by Kentucky and Virginia to the north, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, and Arkansas and Missouri to the west. The Appalachian Mountains dominate the eastern part of the state, and the Mississippi River forms the state’s western border. Tennessee’s capital and second largest city is Nashville, which has a population of 626,144. Memphis is the state’s largest city, with a population of 670,902.
The state of Tennessee is rooted in the Watauga Association, a 1772 frontier pact generally regarded as the first constitutional government west of the Appalachians. What is now Tennessee was initially part of North Carolina, and later part of the Southwest Territory. Tennessee was admitted to the Union as the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Tennessee was the last state to leave the Union and join the Confederacy at the outbreak of the U.S. Civil War in 1861, and the first state to be readmitted to the Union at the end of the war.Tennessee’s Civil War Heritage Trail. Tennessee furnished more soldiers for the Confederate Army than any other state, and more soldiers for the Union Army than any other Southern state. Tennessee has seen some of the nation’s worst racial strife, from the formation of the Ku Klux Klan in Pulaski in 1866 to the assassination of Martin Luther King in Memphis in 1968. In the 20th century, Tennessee transitioned from an agrarian economy to a more diversified economy, aided at times by federal entities such as the Tennessee Valley Authority. In the early 1940s, Oak Ridge, Tennessee was established to house the Manhattan Project’s uranium enrichment facilities, helping to build the world’s first atomic bomb.
Tennessee has played a critical role in the development of rock and roll and early blues music. Beale Street in Memphis is considered by many to be the birthplace of the blues, with musicians such as W.C. Handy performing in its clubs as early as 1909. Memphis was also home to Sun Records, where musicians such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Charlie Rich began their recording careers, and where rock and roll took shape in the 1950s. The 1927 Victor recording sessions in Bristol generally mark the beginning of the country music genre,Charles Wolfe, Music. Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture, 2002. Retrieved: 25 November 2009.] and the rise of the Grand Ole Opry in the 1930s helped make Nashville the center of the country music recording industry.
Tennessee’s major industries include agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. Poultry, soybeans, and cattle are the state’s primary agricultural products, and major manufacturing exports include chemicals, transportation equipment, and electrical equipment. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the nation’s most visited national park, is headquartered in the eastern part of the state, and a section of the Appalachian Trail roughly follows the Tennessee-North Carolina border. Other major tourist attractions include Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis and the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.
“Not only does Teen Challenge help our young people deal with their substance abuse, but is also gives our kids something to live for – a relationship with God, a healthy self-esteem, and a direction in their lives that finally leads somewhere. I sincerely appreciate your efforts to reach and rehabilitate the many young people who have, at present, no hope in life.”
Former Attorney General
“Teen Challenge changes the world one person at a time.”
Founder, Prison Fellowship
“The Teen Challenge program succeeds when all of the government programs have failed.”
“Too many young [people] have already lost their lives, and too many others have suffered serious injury for us to ignore the problems of juvenile alcohol and drug abuse. Programs such as Teen Challenge work to change young people’s lives by changing their hearts. I commend you for your work with young men who are addicted to drugs or alcohol.”
“In my opinion, Teen Challenge is doing the best all-around job of providing the kids with something meaningful in their lives. And that’s what they all need. . .I thank you for your continuing support for Teen Challenge.”
