For teen boys dealing with anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, legal issues, or minor drug or alcohol abuse, hope exists. A chance at a new direction is available through Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We lovingly train at-risk boys to choose a different path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you are searching for therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in Texas, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could be just what you are looking for. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it could be a distance from your home, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teens in need of intervention, time spent away from your hometown—away from the influence of friends and familiar places—might be precisely the right thing to motivate a transformation. Parents from all over the nation select Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their son.
Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for 40 years. We feel that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the best source of healing in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many teenage boys have discovered success here, even where other programs failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys get plenty of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form a key component of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally want to give back and serve others.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home followed by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our accredited private Christian school, boys complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED option for anyone with too few credits to finish high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys opt to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many boys have turned their lives around and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We would like to talk with you to see if our boarding school is a good fit for your son. “Not only does Teen Challenge help our young people deal with their substance abuse, but is also gives our kids something to live for – a relationship with God, a healthy self-esteem, and a direction in their lives that finally leads somewhere. I sincerely appreciate your efforts to reach and rehabilitate the many young people who have, at present, no hope in life.”
