Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys helps boys from Washington on its Northwest Arkansas Campus. It features addiction treatment and private bedrooms for each of the boys, an exciting wilderness adventure program, as well as mission trips and equine therapy.
For teen boys experiencing anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, legal issues, or minor drug or alcohol abuse, hope exists. An opportunity for a new path is available through Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We lovingly train at-risk boys to choose a new path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you would like to find therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in Washington, consider that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could be precisely what you are searching for. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Washington, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teenage boys in need of intervention, spending time away from your hometown–separate from the effect of friends and familiar places—might be exactly what he needs to start a change. Parents from across the nation, including Washington, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for nearly 60 years. We feel that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the surest way to change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every main portion of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys have realized success here, even where other programs failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys have a lot of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education forms a foundation for future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED opportunity for anyone with not enough credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
