Therapeutic Boarding SchoolsTeen Challenge Adventure Ranch helps boys from West Virginia on its Northwest Arkansas Campus. For teen boys experiencing anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, legal problems, or minor drug abuse, hope exists. An opportunity for a new path is possible through Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We lovingly train troubled boys to choose a better path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.

Therapeutic Boarding SchoolsIf you would like to find therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in West Virginia, be aware that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch may be just what you are interested in. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from West Virginia, but that may be a good thing. Consider this: For boys needing intervention, getting away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–apart from the influence of friends and familiar places—may be precisely the right thing to start a change. Parents from around the nation, including West Virginia, select Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their son.

60-Year History of Healing and Hope for Hundreds of Boys

Therapeutic Boarding SchoolsAs the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for 50 years. We feel that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of a lasting difference in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every main component of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless teenagers are finding success here, even where other therapeutic boarding schools have failed.

Several factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:

  • MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys have lots of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.

  • ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.

  • MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.

  • MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.

  • MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.

  • EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.

Christian Boarding School Offering a First-Class Education

Therapeutic Boarding SchoolsEducation means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we think education strongly supports future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for students with too few credits to graduate high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.

Therapeutic Boarding SchoolsBoys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
