38 Year History of Healing and Hope for Hundreds of Boys

therapeutic ranchSince we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for over 38 years. We feel that a relationship with Christ is the best source of transformation in the lives of the young men we serve. Every main element of our program is biblically based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why countless young men have discovered success here, even where other programs didn’t work.

A few factors distinguish Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other therapeutic boarding schools:

  • MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys receive plenty of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.

  • ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.

  • MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.

  • MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.

  • MORE MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form a key component of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally want to give back and serve others.

  • EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
