As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Christ is the best source of change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every main part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys are finding success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get plenty of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home followed by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we think education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for students with not enough credits to complete high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
