Since we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for more than five decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the best source of a lasting difference in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major element of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why so many boys have realized success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys get an abundance of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home followed by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education holds the key to future success. Within our private school with fully accredited courses, boys complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for students with too many missing credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
