As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for more than five decades. We feel that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for a lasting difference in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless teenagers are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys have lots of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home followed by a strong aftercare program to continue their positive growth. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education forms a foundation for future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED track for anyone with too many missing credits to complete high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
Many teens have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys. We value education and academic success, considering it key to long-term life success. Most of our staff have advanced degrees. Many of the students who come here lack sufficient high school credit to obtain their diplomas in a timely manner, but we help them get caught up and even to retake classes for a higher GPA. Every boy on campus is taught and tutored several hours each day. Our disciplined and structured approach to learning, with individualized academic goals and progress, helps the boys get back on track with their education and our courses are fully accredited and transferrable.
