If you are looking for boys ranch in St. Louis, Missouri, consider that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch may be just what you need, since spending time away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–apart from the negative impact of friends and familiar places—may be precisely the right thing to motivate a change. As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for nearly 60 years. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the primary avenue for healing in the lives of the young men we serve. Every major component of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why so many young men have realized success here, even where other programs have failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get lots of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, students complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED track for students with too few credits to complete senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
