Teen Challenge helps boys from California on its Arkansas campus. This Christian rehab for teenagers is uncommon in that it has private bedrooms, an exciting wilderness therapy program, and it also solves behavioral problems.
We provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment in which addicted boys from California grow academically and behaviorally. They will also learn practical life skills, build character, and develop healthy relationships with others. Addiction therapy here seeks to target underlying reasons for the repetition of damaging behaviors and addictions. We utilize adventure-based therapy, a proven curriculum, and continuous individual and group addiction counseling. As a result of these therapies, students replace their old ways of thinking and behaving with a new sense of drive and positivity.
For most students who enter our program, harmful behaviors are driven by the substances they are abusing, from alcohol and marijuana to various illicit drugs. Regardless, they have given in to unhealthy and extremely damaging methods of dealing with life. Drugs or alcohol and adrenaline-seeking behaviors have become the boy’s coping mechanism for handling the ordinary rigors of life. After the addictions are under control, we introduce each boy to new, healthy ways of coping with difficulties.
Spiritual principles such as honesty, integrity, and compassion are also taught to the boys and modelled by peers and staff. Boys are encouraged to trust God and seek His purpose in their lives. When students grab ahold of these concepts, the need for drugs and alcohol will be lifted and they will be able to resume lives as happy, productive members of society.
If your son is struggling with substances and/or behavioral issues, we can help turn his life around. Although we are not located in , California, it is best for a boy to be separated from his negative peer influences in his home city, so the distance is a plus. At this facility, he will learn how to conquer his struggles and build healthy relationships. For more information about this Christian rehab for teens, located in Arkansas, please contact us.
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families several decades. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why so many young men are finding deliverance from addictions here, even where other rehab programs didn’t work.
After graduation from our Christian rehab, boys return home followed by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included without added cost in our normal tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us, because we feel education holds the key to future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. Credits earned can easily transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving our rehab, boys may opt to continue their classwork at home through the online Alpha Omega Academy that we use.
We would like to talk with you to help you decide if our program is the right fit for your son. Please read the rest of our website and use our inquiry form or call us today.

California is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is by far the most populous U.S. state, and the third most extensive (after Alaska and Texas). It is home to the nation’s second- and sixth-largest census statistical areas (Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and San Francisco Bay Area), and eight of the nation’s fifty most populated cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, Long Beach and Oakland).Cite webDead link] The capital city is Sacramento.
California’s diverse geography ranges from the Pacific Coast in the west, to the Sierra Nevada mountains in the eastfrom the RedwoodDouglas-fir forests of the northwest, to the Mojave Desert areas in the southeast. The center of the state is dominated by Central Valley, a major agricultural area. California contains both the highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States (Mount Whitney and Death Valley), and has the third-longest coastline of all states (after Alaska and Florida). Earthquakes are a common occurrence due to the state’s location along the Pacific Ring of Fire: about 37,000 are recorded annually.
The name California once referred to a large area of North America claimed by Spain that included much of modern-day Southwestern United States and the Baja California peninsula. Beginning in the late 18th century, the area known as Alta California, comprising the California territory north of the Baja Peninsula, was colonized by the Spanish Empire as part of New Spain. In 1821, Alta California became a part of Mexico following its successful war for independence. Shortly after the beginning of the Mexican-American War in 1846, a group of American settlers in Sonoma declared an independent California Republic in Alta California. Though its existence was short-lived, its flag became the precursor for California’s current state flag. American victory in the war led to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, in which Mexico ceded Alta California to the United States. Western areas of Alta California became the state of California, which was admitted as the 31st state on September 9, 1850.
The California Gold Rush beginning in 1848 led to dramatic social and demographic change, with large scale immigration from the U.S. and abroad and an accompanying economic boom. Key developments in the early 20th century included the emergence of Los Angeles as the center of the American entertainment industry, and the growth of a large, state-wide tourism sector. The late 20th century saw the development of the technology and information sectors, punctuated by the growth of Silicon Valley. In addition to California’s prosperous agricultural industry, other important contributors to its economy include aerospace, education, and manufacturing. If California were a country, it would be the eighth-largest economy in the world and the 35th most populous nation. At least half of the fresh fruit produced in the United States are cultivated in California, and it also leads in the production of vegetables.
