Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch helps boys from Virginia and across the nation on its Arkansas campus. It is unique from all other Teen Challenge programs in that it has private bedrooms for each of the boys. It also features an exciting wilderness program, mission trips and equine therapy.
For teen boys with anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, legal issues, or drug or alcohol abuse, we can help. An opportunity for a new life is available through this Teen Challenge program for adolescent boys. We lovingly train at-risk boys to choose a different path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you are looking for a Teen Challenge for your boy in Virginia, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch may be precisely what you are searching for. Located in Arkansas, it may be a distance from Virginia, but that may be a good thing. Teenage boys needing intervention may need to get away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away and the influences of friends there.
Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for upwards of 40 years. A relationship with Jesus is the surest way to a lasting difference in the lives of the teenage boys. Every major component of our Teen Challenge program is biblically-based.
A few factors distinguish Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other similar programs:
MUCH LOWER COST! Teen Challenge is a fraction of the cost of other therapeutic programs.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
6-MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing this Teen Challenge, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get lots of supervision and personal attention. Also, our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED THERAPY — Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor trips and activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and hiking, climbing and cave exploration. Boys are challenged physically and learn the importance of responsibility, goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY — Rather than a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys. We feel that this privacy is important.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we find that education is critical for future success. In our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling.
Parents from across the country, including Virginia, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Boys at Teen Challenge engage in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program that is second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many teens have turned their lives around and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge. We would be happy to talk with you to see if our boarding school is the right fit for your son. Whether you choose Teen Challenge, a school in Virginia, or another alternative, we hope your family can experience the restoration that Christ can bring. |More about Teen Challenge in Virginia: |
Virginia is a U.S. state on the Atlantic Coast of the Southern United States. Virginia is nicknamed the “Old Dominion” and sometimes the “Mother of Presidents” after the eight U.S. presidents born there. The geography and climate of the Commonwealth are shaped by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay, which provide habitat for much of its flora and fauna. The capital of the Commonwealth is Richmond; Virginia Beach is the most populous city and Fairfax County the most populous political subdivision. The Commonwealth’s population is over eight million.
The area’s history begins with several indigenous groups, including the Powhatan. In 1607 the London Company established the Colony of Virginia as the first permanent New World English colony. Slave labor and the land acquired from displaced Native American tribes each played a significant role in the colony’s early politics and plantation economy. Virginia was one of the 13 Colonies in the American Revolution and joined the Confederacy in the American Civil War, during which Richmond was made the Confederate capital and Virginia’s northwestern counties separated to form the state of West Virginia. Although the Commonwealth was under conservative single party rule for nearly a century following Reconstruction, both major national parties are competitive in modern Virginia.
The Virginia General Assembly is the oldest legislature in the Western Hemisphere. The state government has been repeatedly ranked most effective by the Pew Center on the States. It is unique in how it treats cities and counties equally, manages local roads, and prohibits its governors from serving consecutive terms. Virginia’s economy has many sectors: agriculture in the Shenandoah Valley; federal agencies in Northern Virginia, including the headquarters of the Department of Defense and CIA; and military facilities in Hampton Roads, the site of the region’s main seaport. Virginia’s public schools and many colleges and universities have contributed to growing media and technology sectors. As a result, computer chips have become the state’s leading export.
