Several factors distinguish Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys receive a lot of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education forms a foundation for future success. In our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for anyone with not enough credits to finish senior high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
