As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for several decades. We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to change in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every main portion of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why so many teenage boys have discovered success here, even where other programs failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys get an abundance of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education is critical for future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED track for boys with too many missing credits to complete senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
