If you are searching for therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in or near Dallas, Texas, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch might be precisely what you are interested in. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Dallas, Texas, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For boys in need of intervention, getting away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–separate from the influence of friends and familiar places—may be precisely the right thing to motivate a transformation. Parents from around the nation, including Dallas, Texas, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
As the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for several decades. We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys have realized success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys have an abundance of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home followed by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education forms a foundation for future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED option for those with not enough credits to finish senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.

Dallas is the third-largest city in the state of Texas and the ninth-largest in the United States. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the largest metropolitan area in the South and fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Divided between Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties, the city had a population of 1,197,816 in 2010, according to the United States Census Bureau.
The city is the largest economic center of the 12-county DallasFort WorthArlington metropolitan area (the DFW MSA) that according to the March 2010 U.S. Census Bureau release, had a population of 6,371,773 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. The metroplex economy is the sixth largest in the United States, with a 2010 gross metropolitan product of $374 billion.
Dallas was founded in 1841 and was formally incorporated as a city in February 1856. The city’s economy is primarily based on banking, commerce, telecommunications, computer technology, energy, healthcare and medical research, transportation and logistics. The city is home to the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the nation. Located in North Texas and a major city in the American South, Dallas is the main core of the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States that lacks any navigable link to the sea.
The city’s prominence arose from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, and its position along numerous railroad lines. With the advent of the interstate highway system in the 1950s and 1960s, Dallas became an east/west and north/south focal point of the interstate system with the convergence of four major interstate highways in the city, along with a fifth interstate loop around the city. Dallas developed a strong industrial and financial sector, and a major inland port, due largely to the presence of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, one of the largest and busiest airports in the world.
In the latest rankings released on September 14, 2011, Dallas was rated as an Alpha- world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network and is the only city in the South Central and Southwest regions to achieve that status. Dallas is also ranked 14th in world rankings of GDP by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
