As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for nearly 60 years. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of healing in the lives of the boys we serve. Every significant part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys have discovered success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys get a lot of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED track for anyone with too many missing credits to graduate senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
