Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Georgetown, Texas, but that may be a good thing. Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for more than five decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for transformation in the lives of the young men we serve. Every significant part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why so many young men are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys receive a lot of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education strongly supports future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who are struggling. We offer a GED opportunity for anyone with too few credits to finish high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program that is second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many young men have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after completing the program at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
