Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for nearly 60 years. We are certain that a relationship with Christ is the surest way to healing in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major element of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless boys are finding success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to continue their positive growth. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education is critical for future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for students with too few credits to complete high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program that is second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
