Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families for several decades. We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of change in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every main part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why so many teenage boys have found success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home followed by a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for those with too many missing credits to complete high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys opt to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many boys have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We would be happy to talk with you to help you decide if our boarding school is a good fit for your son.
