Since we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the primary avenue for healing in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every significant component of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why numerous teenagers have found success here, even where other programs have failed.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys receive lots of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education is critical for future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for those with not enough credits to finish high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many young men have turned their lives around and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
