Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families for several decades. We believe that a relationship with Christ is the best source of healing in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every significant part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why countless teenagers have found success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys have lots of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education holds the key to future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED track for students with too few credits to complete senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program that is second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many young men have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
