As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families for several decades. We believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for change in the lives of the young men we serve. Every significant part of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why numerous young men are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys get plenty of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who are struggling. We offer a GED opportunity for students with too few credits to complete senior high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
