Healing and Hope for Thousands of Boys Over the Past Five Decades
Since we became the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families for more than five decades. We believe that a relationship with Christ is the primary avenue for healing in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every major portion of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless teenagers are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
A number of factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for boys apart from other therapeutic ranches:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys get a lot of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
The Ranch Features a Private School with Fully Accredited Courses
Education means a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education strongly supports future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED track for students with too many missing credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
