If you are looking for boys ranch in Carbondale, Illinois, be aware that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could be precisely what you are looking for, since time spent away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–apart from the effect of friends and familiar places—may be just the thing to start a big change. Parents from all over the nation, including Carbondale, Illinois, select Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their boys.
As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for nearly 60 years. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to change in the lives of the young men we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason numerous young men have realized success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys have an abundance of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education holds the key to future success. In our private school with fully accredited courses, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED track for boys with too many missing credits to graduate senior high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many boys have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys. We would like to talk with you to determine if our boarding school is a good fit for your son. Whether you choose Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, a school in Carbondale, Illinois, or another option, we hope your family can experience the restoration that Christ can bring. We value education and academic success, considering it key to long-term life success. Most of our staff have advanced degrees. Many of the students who come here lack sufficient high school credit to obtain their diplomas in a timely manner, but we help them get caught up and even to retake classes for a higher GPA. Every boy on campus is taught and tutored several hours each day. Our disciplined and structured approach to learning, with individualized academic goals and progress, helps the boys get back on track with their education and our courses are fully accredited and transferrable.
