Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for nearly 60 years. We believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major component of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why countless boys are finding success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys have lots of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education forms a foundation for future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED track for boys with not enough credits to finish senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many boys have turned their lives around and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys.
