As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for nearly 60 years. We feel that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every significant component of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why so many boys have realized success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get a lot of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education holds the key to future success. Within our private school with fully accredited courses, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED track for anyone with too many missing credits to graduate senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.

Although Lawton’s economy is still largely dependent on Fort Sill, it has also grown to encompass manufacturing, higher education, health care, and retail. The city’s government is run by a council-manager government consisting of a city manager and a city council headed by a mayor. We value education and academic success, considering it key to long-term life success. Most of our staff have advanced degrees. Many of the students who come here lack sufficient high school credit to obtain their diplomas in a timely manner, but we help them get caught up and even to retake classes for a higher GPA. Every boy on campus is taught and tutored several hours each day. Our disciplined and structured approach to learning, with individualized academic goals and progress, helps the boys get back on track with their education and our courses are fully accredited and transferrable.
Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging indoor and outdoor physical activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). They are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
