About Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch
Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Minneapolis, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teenage boys in need of intervention, spending time away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–separate from the pressure of friends and familiar places—might be precisely the right thing to cause a change. Parents from across the country, including Branson, Missouri, choose Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys admits boys from Minneapolis on its Northwest Arkansas Campus. It has private bedrooms for each of the boys, an awesome wilderness program, and it includes mission trips and equine therapy.
Healing and Hope for Thousands of Boys Over the Past Five Decades
As the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the best source of a lasting difference in the lives of the young men we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why numerous young men are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
A few factors set apart Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other therapeutic ranches:
-
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys get plenty of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
-
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
-
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
-
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
-
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
-
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home followed by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
The Ranch Features a Private School with Fully Accredited Courses
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education strongly supports future success. In our private school with fully accredited courses, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED opportunity for anyone with too many missing credits to graduate senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program second to none. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
Many boys have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys. We would be happy to talk with you to see if our boarding school is a good option for your son. More about therapeutic ranches for boys in or near Minneapolis, Minnesota: Minneapolis , nicknamed “City of Lakes” and the “Mill City,” is the county seat of Hennepin County, the largest city in the state of Minnesota, and the 48th largest in the United States. Its name is attributed to the city’s first schoolteacher, who combined mni, the Dakota word for water, and polis, the Greek word for city. As of the 2010 Census, the population of the city of Minneapolis is 382,578. Minneapolis lies on both banks of the Mississippi River, just north of the river’s confluence with the Minnesota River, and adjoins Saint Paul, the state’s capital. Known as the Twin Cities, Minneapolis-Saint Paul is the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the U.S., with approximately 3.3 million residents. The city is abundantly rich in water with over twenty lakes and wetlands, the Mississippi river, creeks and waterfalls, many connected by parkways in the Chain of Lakes and the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway. It was once the world’s flour milling capital and a hub for timber, and today is the primary business center between Chicago and Seattle with Minneapolis proper containing the fifth highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies. It has cultural organizations that draw creative people and audiences to the city for theater, visual art, writing, and music. The community’s diverse population has a long tradition of charitable support through progressive public social programs and VOLAGs, as well as private and corporate philanthropy. |
