Healing and Hope for Thousands of Boys Over the Past Five Decades
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to a lasting difference in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every main component of our program is biblically-based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many teenage boys have discovered success here, even where other programs have failed.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic ranches:
-
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
-
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
-
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
-
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
-
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
-
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.

Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
