Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for healing in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major element of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why so many boys have discovered success here, even where other programs have failed.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys have an abundance of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education strongly supports future success. While enrolled in our private school with fully accredited courses, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED option for students with too many missing credits to finish high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and dealing well with others.
