Since we became the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for several decades. We feel that a relationship with Christ is the primary avenue for a lasting difference in the lives of the young men we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why countless young men have found success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys receive a lot of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we think education holds the key to future success. In our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for those with not enough credits to graduate senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program second to none. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
