Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Branson, Missouri, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teenage boys in need of intervention, spending time away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–separate from the pressure of friends and familiar places—might be precisely the right thing to cause a change. Parents from across the country, including Branson, Missouri, choose Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys admits boys from Branson, Missouri on its Northwest Arkansas Campus. It has private bedrooms for each of the boys, an awesome wilderness program, and it includes mission trips and equine therapy.
Since we became the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been helping families for more than five decades. We feel that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the best source of transformation in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every significant element of our program is biblically based. We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why countless teenage boys have discovered success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys receive plenty of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation boys go back home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we find that education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED opportunity for boys with too many missing credits to graduate high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in many recreational activities, both on and off campus. We operate an adventure program. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
