Since we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of a lasting difference in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every major element of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many teenage boys have discovered success here, even where other programs failed.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys receive an abundance of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home followed by a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education holds the key to future success. In our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED track for students with too many missing credits to graduate high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
