If you are searching for therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in or near Gainesville, Texas, consider that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch might be just what you need. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from Gainesville, Texas, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teens in need of intervention, time spent away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–apart from the pressure of friends and familiar places—may be just the thing to cause a transformation. Parents from across the country, including Gainesville, Texas, choose Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their son.
As the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for more than five decades. We are certain that a relationship with Christ is the surest way to change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every main part of our program is biblically based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless boys have found success here, even where other programs failed.
Several factors distinguish Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys receive lots of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on seasonally scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for boys with too many missing credits to finish senior high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch take part in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many boys have turned their lives around and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
