60-Year History of Healing and Hope for Hundreds of Boys

therapeutic ranchSince we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been offering hope to families for more than five decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to a lasting difference in the lives of the young men we serve. Every significant portion of our program is biblically based. We have seen thousands of times over that our faith-based approach is why so many young men are finding success here, even where other programs didn’t work.

A few factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic boarding schools:

  • MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys get lots of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.

  • ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.

  • MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.

  • MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.

  • MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.

  • EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.

We offer a GED track for those with too few credits to graduate senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others.
