Since we became the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for more than five decades. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys are finding success here, even where other programs failed.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys have lots of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to continue their positive growth. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education is critical for future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for students with too many missing credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Boys at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many young men have turned their lives around and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
