Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for more than five decades. We feel that a relationship with Jesus is the surest way to transformation in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every main portion of our program is biblically based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many teenagers are finding success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home followed by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education forms a foundation for future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for boys with too many missing credits to complete senior high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many young men have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch.
