Since we became the first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for more than five decades. We feel that a relationship with Christ is the best source of healing in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every significant portion of our program is biblically based. We believe that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many teenage boys have found success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys receive an abundance of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home followed by a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education forms a foundation for future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, boys study courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to help those who need it. We offer a GED option for students with too many missing credits to graduate high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills like woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Students at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
