As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for more than five decades. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why countless teenagers are finding success here, even where other programs have failed.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys receive plenty of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home followed by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we think education holds the key to future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED option for students with not enough credits to complete high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys decide to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program that is second to none. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many boys have turned their lives around and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch. We would love to talk with you to see if our boarding school is the right fit for your son.
