If you are looking for therapeutic boarding schools or boys ranches in or near The Colony, Texas, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch could be exactly what you are interested in. Located in Northwest Arkansas, it is obviously a distance from The Colony, Texas, but that may be a good thing. Think about this: For teenage boys needing intervention, spending time away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away–separate from the negative impact of friends and familiar places—could be precisely the right thing to start a change. Parents from across the nation, including The Colony, Texas, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the surest way to healing in the lives of the boys we serve. Every significant part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason so many boys have found success here, even where other programs didn’t work.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys get an abundance of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on normal scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Education means a great deal to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we feel education forms a foundation for future success. Within our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students study on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED track for those with not enough credits to graduate high school on time. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After completing Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
