If you would like to find a Teen Challenge for your boy in New York, be aware that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch may be precisely what you are interested in. Located in Arkansas, it may be a distance from New York, but that may be a good thing. Boys in need of intervention may need time away from your hometown and the influences of friends there.
Since we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been serving families for upwards of 40 years. A relationship with Jesus is the surest way to healing in the lives of the boys. Every significant element of our Teen Challenge program is biblically-based.
A few factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other similar programs:
MUCH LOWER COST! Teen Challenge is a fraction of the cost of other therapeutic programs.
MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form an important aspect of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally desire to give back and serve others.
6-MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After successfully finishing this Teen Challenge, boys go home followed by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys get an abundance of supervision and personal attention. Also, our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED THERAPY — Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor trips and activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and hiking, climbing and cave exploration. Boys are challenged physically and learn the importance of responsibility, goals and perseverance.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we feel education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our accredited private Christian school, boys work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it.
Parents from all over the country, including New York, decide on Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Students at Teen Challenge engage in a multitude of recreational activities, both on and off campus. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
Many young men have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make an impact for Christ after graduating from Teen Challenge. |More about Teen Challenge in New York: |
New York is a state in the Northeastern region of the United States. New York is the 27th most extensive, the 3rd most populous, and the 7th most densely populated of the 50 United States. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south, and by Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border with Rhode Island east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Ontario to the west and north, and Quebec to the north. The state of New York is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from the city of New York.
New York City, with a population of over 8.1 million, is the most populous city in the United States. It is known for its status as a financial and cultural center, and for its history as a gateway for immigration to the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, it is also a destination of choice for many foreign visitors. Both the state and city were named for the 17th century Duke of York, James Stuart, future James II and VII of England and Scotland.
New York was inhabited by various tribes of Algonquian and Iroquoian speaking Native American tribes at the time Dutch settlers moved into the region in the early 17th century. In 1609, the region was first claimed by Henry Hudson for the Dutch. Fort Nassau was built near the site of the present-day capital of Albany in 1614. The Dutch soon also settled New Amsterdam and parts of the Hudson River Valley, establishing the colony of New Netherland. The British took over the colony by annexation in 1664.
The borders of the British colony, the Province of New York, were roughly similar to those of the present-day state. About one third of all the battles of the Revolutionary War took place in New York. The state constitution was enacted in 1777. New York became the 11th state to ratify the United States Constitution, on July 26, 1788.
“Not only does Teen Challenge help our young people deal with their substance abuse, but is also gives our kids something to live for – a relationship with God, a healthy self-esteem, and a direction in their lives that finally leads somewhere. I sincerely appreciate your efforts to reach and rehabilitate the many young people who have, at present, no hope in life.”
Former Attorney General
“Teen Challenge changes the world one person at a time.”
Founder, Prison Fellowship
“The Teen Challenge program succeeds when all of the government programs have failed.”
“Too many young [people] have already lost their lives, and too many others have suffered serious injury for us to ignore the problems of juvenile alcohol and drug abuse. Programs such as Teen Challenge work to change young people’s lives by changing their hearts. I commend you for your work with young men who are addicted to drugs or alcohol.”
“In my opinion, Teen Challenge is doing the best all-around job of providing the kids with something meaningful in their lives. And that’s what they all need. . .I thank you for your continuing support for Teen Challenge.”
