We believe that centering our program on Christ explains why so many teenage boys have realized success here, even where other programs failed.
A few factors set Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch apart from other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys have plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form a key component of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally want to give back and serve others.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to help them continue to grow. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Academics mean a lot to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our accredited private Christian school, students complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who are struggling. We offer a GED option for anyone with too few credits to finish high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills for example woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and others. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys choose to continue their classwork at home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance learning.
Residents at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch engage in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We facilitate an adventure program that is second to none. Besides being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
