Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch enrolls boys from West Virginia and across the nation on its Arkansas campus. It is uncommon from all other Teen Challenge programs in that it has private bedrooms for each of the boys. It also features top academics, licensed addiction treatment (insurance accepted), an awesome wilderness adventure program, mission trips, and equine therapy.
For teen boys with anger, emotional issues, depression, behavioral problems, authority issues, or drug or alcohol abuse, we can help. The ability to choose a new direction is possible through this Teen Challenge program for adolescent boys. We lovingly train struggling boys to choose a new path in life, leading them to be godly and upright young men.
If you are interested in a Teen Challenge for your boy in West Virginia, take into account that Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch may be just what you need. Located in Arkansas, it may be a distance from West Virginia, but that may be a good thing. Teenage boys needing intervention may need to get away from your hometown — away from the negative impact of friends and familiar places — away and the negative impact of friends there.
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for over 40 years. A relationship with Jesus Christ is the primary avenue for a lasting difference in the lives of the teenagers. Every major component of our Teen Challenge program is biblically-based.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other similar programs:
MUCH LOWER COST! Teen Challenge is a fraction of the cost of other therapeutic programs.
ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat addictions to alcohol or drugs, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
6-MONTH AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of this Teen Challenge, boys go home with a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys receive lots of supervision and personal attention. Also, our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED THERAPY — Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor trips and activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and hiking, climbing and cave exploration. Boys are challenged physically and learn the importance of responsibility, goals and perseverance.
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, because we find that education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it.
Parents from around the country, including West Virginia, select Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for their sons.
Teens at Teen Challenge take part in a variety of recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. As well as being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and cooperating well with others.
Many young men have put their lives back on track and have gone on to make a difference for Christ after completing the program at Teen Challenge. We would love to talk with you to determine if our boarding school is a good fit for your son. Whether you select Teen Challenge, a school in West Virginia, or another program, we hope your family can experience the restoration that Christ can bring. |More about Teen Challenge in West Virginia: |
West Virginia is a state in the Appalachian and Southeastern regions of the United States, bordered by Virginia to the southeast, Kentucky to the southwest, Ohio to the northwest, Pennsylvania to the northeast and Maryland to the east. West Virginia is the 41st most extensive and the 37th most populous of the 50 United States. The capital and largest city is Charleston.
West Virginia became a state following the Wheeling Conventions, breaking away from Virginia during the American Civil War. The new state was admitted to the Union on June 20, 1863, and was a key Civil War border state. West Virginia was the only state to form by seceding from a Confederate state, and was one of only two states formed during the American Civil War (the other one being Nevada, which separated from Utah Territory).
The Census Bureau and the Association of American Geographers consider West Virginia part of the South. The northern panhandle extends adjacent to Pennsylvania and Ohio with the West Virginia cities of Wheeling and Weirton being just across the border from the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, while Bluefield is less than Convert from North Carolina. Huntington in the southwest is close to the states of Ohio and Kentucky, while Martinsburg and Harper’s Ferry in the Eastern Panhandle region are considered to be a part of the Washington metropolitan area, in between the states of Maryland and Virginia. The unique position of West Virginia means that it is often included in several geographical regions, including the Mid-Atlantic, the Upland South, and the Southeastern United States. Notably, it is the only state which entirely lies within the area served by the Appalachian Regional Commission, which is a common definition of “Appalachia”.
The state is noted for its mountains and diverse topography, its historically significant logging and coal mining industries, and its political and labor history. It is one of the most densely karstic areas in the world, making it a choice area for recreational caving and scientific research. The karst lands contribute to much of the state’s cool trout waters. It is also known for a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities, including skiing, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, mountain biking and hunting.
