Strong Reputation for Healing and Hope for Hundreds of Boys
As the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for several decades. We are certain that a relationship with Christ is the best source of change in the lives of the boys we serve. Every major part of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ is the reason countless boys have found success here, even where other programs have failed.
A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic boarding schools:
MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low so that boys get plenty of supervision and personal attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.
ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.
MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students can spend nights in their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.
MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to visit family on regularly scheduled breaks.
MORE ADDICTION TREATMENT — Our program is a licensed dual-diagnosis Addiction Treatment Center with staff expertly trained to treat substance abuse, as well as harmful lifestyle addictions to gambling, pornography, or online gaming.
EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After graduation from Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys return home with a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
Christian Boarding School Offering a First-Class Education
Education means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we find that education holds the key to future success. While enrolled in our private Christian school with fully accredited classes, students work on courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to assist those who need it. We offer a GED opportunity for those with too many missing credits to graduate senior high school in an appropriate time frame. Credits earned can transfer to private or public schools at home. Boys may also study basic vocational skills including woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more. After leaving Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, many boys prefer to continue their classwork from home through dual enrollment with Alpha Omega Academy distance education.
Teens at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch participate in numerous recreational activities, both on and off campus. We run an adventure program. In addition to being fun and physically challenging for the boys, it teaches them about reaching goals, communicating and working well with others.
