Healing and Hope for Thousands of Boys Over the Past 38 Years

boys ranchesSince we became the initial residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been bringing restoration to families more than 38 years. We believe that a relationship with Jesus is the best source of transformation in the lives of the teenage boys we serve. Every main element of our program is biblically-based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why countless teenage boys have realized success here, even where other programs didn’t work.

Several factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic ranches:

  • MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low to ensure that boys get a lot of supervision and one-on-one attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.

  • ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.

  • PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students enjoy their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.

  • FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on regularly scheduled breaks.

  • MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form a key component of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally wish to give back and serve others.

  • EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go back home with a strong aftercare program to prevent relapse . Aftercare is included in our tuition package.

The Ranch Features an Accredited School

boarding schoolEducation means much to us at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch for Boys, because we believe education is critical for future success. In our accredited private school, students complete courses led by certified teachers, with individual tutoring available to aid those who need it. We offer a GED track for students with not enough credits to complete senior high school in a timely manner. Credits earned can transfer to public or private schools at home. Boys can also learn basic vocational skills such as woodworking, basic electrical, construction and carpentry, shop skills, basic automotive, and more.
