38 Year Reputation for Healing and Hope for Hundreds of Boys

therapeutic ranchSince we became the very first residential Teen Challenge program for boys, Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch has been assisting families for upwards of 38 years. We are certain that a relationship with Jesus is the primary avenue for healing in the lives of the teenagers we serve. Every significant component of our program is biblically based. We feel that centering our program on Christ explains why numerous teenagers have found success here, even where other programs have failed.

A number of factors show the difference between Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch and other therapeutic boarding schools:

  • MORE STAFF — First, we keep student-to-staff ratios low in order that boys receive lots of supervision and individual attention. Our staff are highly trained and most have bachelor or master’s degrees in their area of work.

  • ADVENTURE-BASED LEARNING — Our outdoor adventure program is second to none. Our students have regular opportunities to experience fun and challenging outdoor activities. Students enjoy camping, backpacking, rappelling, canoeing, and spelunking (cave exploration). Students are challenged physically and learn the importance of goals and perseverance.

  • MORE PRIVACY FOR EACH BOY — Rather than housing all the boys in a large dorm filled with bunk beds, our students have their own bedrooms, separate from the noise and influence of the other boys.

  • MORE FAMILY VISITS — Residents are allowed to make visits to home on seasonally scheduled breaks.

  • MORE MISSION TRIPS — Mission trips form a key component of the program, for this reason: as boys mature, they naturally desire to give back and serve others.

  • EXTENSIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM — After completion of Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch, boys go home accompanied by a strong aftercare program to continue the forward momentum. Aftercare is included in our tuition package.
